MANILA – This young Filipino-American knows how to make money from art and social media.

Cyrene Quiamco earns an easy $10,000 to $30,000 per contract as a brand endorser using the image messaging application Snapchat, according to an article published on the Entrepreneur Philippines website.

Companies pay Quiamco to transform Snapchat into a digital canvas with her drawings, text, videos and games.

Forbes magazine estimated that she earns around $500,000 a year.

But it wasn’t always an easy life for Quiamco. According to the Entrepreneur Philippines feature, her family had humble beginnings and she entered college with seven scholarships.

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas with majors in Studio Art: Graphic Design, Painting and Ceramics with a minor in Digital Graphics, Quiamco landed jobs at a cosmetics company as well as the US telecoms company Verizon.

Not totally satisfied, Quiamco tried monetizing her art through Snapchat, and the rest was history.

Some of the recognition she has received include being one of the Most Fascinating People on the Internet (Cosmopolitan), The Best, Coolest, Smartest, Weirdest Accounts on the Hottest Social Network (NYMag) and Top 100 Cultural Icons (Vanity Fair).

She now pays it forward through the book “11 Seconds to Success,” which chronicles how she was able to emerge on top.
