Nazareth Academy Parent Speaker Series (with Dr. John Duffy)

In keeping with the 2019-20 school theme, “Widening Our Lens ... That All May Be One,” Nazareth Academy will host a new parent speaker series that is open to the entire community.

Nazareth will host four speakers, each known for their work with families and adolescents. They will address topics that are both relevant and practical.

“We warmly invite parents to one or all of these sessions,” principal Therese Hawkins said. “We want the community to know that Nazareth is committed to creating a vibrant and dynamic learning environment.”

On Oct. 3, Dr. John Duffy, author of Parenting the New Teen in the Age of Anxiety, will speak.

“Parenting is more complicated than it has ever been,” Duffy said. “Our kids today are psychologically and emotionally burdened by social media, unreasonable academic and social stressors, and an unprecedented stream of information. More than ever, our kids need us to help them make sense of, and integrate, all they take in, starting at a very early age. To do that, we must know and truly understand their world.”

All presentations are free and open to the public and begin at 7 p.m.
