Joseph Bailey's Reimagining the Workplace: Working Smarter, Not Harder

December 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm

So much of our lives are spent at work, making a living, fulfilling our ambitions and purpose.

For many of us, work has become stressful, exhausting, and often overwhelming. I was raised on the belief that the more stressed I was, the more likely I would be successful. I now see that working from a calm and inspired mind is one of the main secrets to success. The old saying, “Happy go lucky” is so true. When we are in our resilient mind, we see the bigger picture, we have more creative and innovative ideas, and we see unlimited possibilities instead of obstacles getting in our way. Our next podcast is about an organization whose purpose is to help business leaders understand the nature of their minds so that they can respond to the ever-changing landscape of the business world with a quiet mind and insight.

Insight Principles, Inc., is a consulting firm in Boston and London with the objective of bringing success and wisdom to the corporate world. The dog-eat-dog competitive world of business seems a strange place in which to find the understanding of the Principles having such a huge impact. However, it makes sense that human performance, whether in the worlds of business, sports, or daily life is directly tied to the power of the human mind. Correctly using our minds as they were designed can have a huge impact on all areas of our lives. The team of Insight Principles will join us for our 11th podcast on: “Working Smarter, Not Harder”. They have offices in Boston and London and work with Fortune 500 companies from around the world.

Meet our guests

Robin Charbit

Robin began his career as a chemical engineer with Exxon in 1981, having received his education at Sheffield University in the UK, and eventually led one of Exxon’s international plastics businesses. He joined Arthur D. Little in 1992 first in Europe and ultimately, in Boston, where he led and managed the North American Chemicals Practice.
With a colleague, he left the more classical consulting world and founded Insight Management Partners, to bring an understanding of how the mind works into business. He then met Ken Manning and they joined forces to create Insight Principles.
Robin was born in the UK to French parents and met his Belgian wife, Sabine, in Switzerland. They now live in Boston. When time permits, Robin enjoys all things mechanical (cars, wood-working, home projects) and is an avid cinephile

Sandra M. Krot

Sandy’s vision is to make the workplace a setting for creative performance as well as the elevation of the human spirit. Early in her career as a mental health counselor, she had the good fortune of realizing principles that explain how the human mind works. Eventually, Sandy became a pioneer in translating this principled understanding of human thought to leadership and organizational effectiveness. Today the focus of her work is with Fortune 100 executives, leadership teams, and working groups helping them achieve extraordinary results by unleashing the power of the human mind. She works with the consulting group Insight Principles, Inc. and coauthored with Ken Manning and Robin Charbit the book entitled, Invisible Power: Insight Principles at Work.

Sandy shares her life with her partner Peter Remick and together they built their net-zero-energy home in northwest Washington. They get out into the awesome Pacific Northwest wilderness as often as they can sea kayaking as well as hiking and backpacking with their dog.

In parallel to his career in psychology, Ken also has a strong background in business, including roles in various start-ups as national sales manager, director of marketing, and advisory board member. He co-founded with his son-in-law, a successful software development company, which he still leads.
