Patrick R. Leddin PhD

I’m an associate professor of Managerial Studies at Vanderbilt University and a senior consultant at FranklinCovey. My work focuses on strategy creation and execution, leader development, and organizational culture.

I’ve had the privilege to work on the ground with private and public sector clients in the United States, Canada, Asia, the Caribbean, and throughout Europe. My 25+ years of leadership and project-management experience began as an officer in the United States Army, where I was fortunate to attend and complete a number of the military’s most challenging leadership-development courses including airborne, ranger, and infantry officer schools. I served as infantry platoon leader, company executive officer, and company commander in the 82nd Airborne Division.

After my military time, I worked for KPMG Consulting and led several financial management and human capital projects. After my time at KPMG, I began a partnership with FranklinCovey that continues today. In addition, I started a human capital consulting business that I ran for 11 years until its acquisition. My company, Wedgewood Consulting Group, achieved double-digit revenue growth each year, expanded to offices in four states, and, most importantly, allowed me to work with some of the most talented and wonderful people one could ever meet.

I’m the author of Oliver’s Spot: The Five Ps Leading Teams to Top Results and Oliver’s Spot for the Public Sector: A Leadership Story. My forthcoming book, Building a Winning Culture in Government is due out in early 2018.
