Michelle Travis

Michelle Travis is a Professor of Law at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she serves as the Co-Director of the USF Labor and Employment Law Program. She received a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. in psychology from Cornell University. She has taught at Stanford Law School, UC Hastings College of the Law, Santa Clara University School of Law, and the Lewis & Clark Law School. Michelle is an expert in sex discrimination law and policy, gender bias, and women’s equality. 

Michelle has published eighteen journal articles, including in the California Law Review, the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, and the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. She regularly speaks around the country on issues relating to sex discrimination, gender stereotypes, and the gender pay gap. Her audiences include parents and family advocates, legal and social science scholars, business and human resource practitioners, public interest activists, lawyers, and policy-makers.
